A commanding sans-serif influenced by Florence, Italy’s rich history of craftsmanship and engraved lettering.
At the heart of Grafio is an engraved sign from Tipografia Lascialfari, a renowned print house in Florence, Italy. This typeface reflects the strength and precision of traditional engraving, blending the artistry of old-world craftsmanship with a modern, geometric approach. The bold, solid letterforms of the original sign evoke a sense of timelessness and authority, serving as a tribute to Florence’s typographic legacy.
Drawing from the engraved sign consisting of only eight letterforms, Grafio was developed into a full typeface that retains the original’s bold character and refined detail. With six distinct styles, it is adaptable for various applications, from editorial design to modern branding. Its geometric proportions and robust design allow it to stand out in contemporary environments while remaining grounded in the history of Florence’s print culture.
