Franc Luron was inspired by lettering found in a type specimen book published by Adolphe Bertrand in the 1890s. The original limited specimen featured 20 differing letterforms, evidently characterized by their wide width and anchored baseline. It is an antique grotesque inspired by modernism, designed for contemporary use.
